Job Specification
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION Warehouseman position that require the receipt, delivery and storage of supplies and other manual duties. Supervision and tasks will be provided by the Administrative Assistant based in Mombasa.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Upon receipt of requisitions for supplies and equipment, locates items in the warehouse storage areas and transfers them to the loading area utilizing material handling equipments such as forklifts, hand trucks and pallet jacks. Inspects the items for damage and cleanliness to ensure they are in proper condition for issuance. 30%
· Prepares equipment for transfer by covering items with protective wrappings and carefully loading and securing items in Embassy vehicles for transport. Upon delivery, coordinates with receiving parties for security checks as required and proper placement. Unloads vehicles utilizing proper handling equipment to avoid damage items and accountable property. 30%
· Unloads supplies and equipment being received at the warehouse for storage and utilizes handling equipment to position in the proper areas based on the storage plan, stacking requirements and floor load capacity. Inspects items for damage and cleanliness and provides protective coverings for long term storage. Moves and reposition items between warehouse storage areas as required and ensures items are stored in correct locations. Assists with inventory of expendable items and accountable property. 30%
· Keeps storage areas, warehouse space and stored items clean by dusting, sweeping, washing and disposing of trash. Informs the warehouse supervisor of any fire or safety hazards, pest infestations, water intrusion or other conditions that may cause employee injury or damage to stored materials. 10%

2. U.S. Citizen Eligible Family Member (USEFM): For purposes of receiving a preference in hiring for a qualified position, an EFM who meets the following criteria:

4. Member of Household (MOH): An individual who accompanies a direct-hire Foreign, Civil, or uniformed service member permanently assigned or stationed at a U.S. Foreign Service post or establishment abroad, or at an office of the American Institute in Taiwan. An MOH is:
Not an EFM; and,
Not on the travel orders of the sponsoring employee; and,
Has been officially declared by the sponsoring USG employee to the COM as part of his/her household.
A MOH is under COM authority and may include a parent, unmarried partner, other relative or adult child who falls outside the Department’s current legal and statutory definition of family member. A MOH does not have to be a U.S. Citizen.
5. Not Ordinarily Resident (NOR) – An individual who:
Is not a citizen of the host country; and,
Does not ordinarily reside (OR, see below) in the host country; and,
Is not subject to host country employment and tax laws; and,
Has a U.S. Social Security Number (SSN).
NOR employees are compensated under a GS or FS salary schedule, not under the LCP.
