JOB TITLE: ECONOMIC ANALYSTS (2)

a) Job description
The successful candidate will be required to perform the following functions:
- Conduct analysis of global and Rwandan economic and investment trends to identify impact on investment, private sector development and competitiveness
- Conduct financial and economic analysis on specific initiatives to develop the private sector, investment Strategy and improve competitiveness of Rwanda
- Communicate findings of strategy projects to the rest of RDB and government and secure stakeholder buy-in
- Support the design of the implementation of reforms and strategies and provide oversight where necessary
- Provide input into policies, laws and GoR decision forums to improve their impact on private sector development, investment and competitiveness
- Conduct internal/organisational strategy projects at RDB
- Collaborate on any other work being undertaken under the Strategy & Competitiveness Unit
b) Minimum qualifications & experience
We are looking for candidates with the following profile:
- Master’s degree in economics/statistics/econometrics/public administration/ business administration/public policy/economic policy/Law or other related subjects with a minimum relevant work experience of 2 years
- Experience in private sector strategy consulting and/or direct policy advice to governments is an advantage
- Strong quantitative, economic analysis skills with ability to structure and think strategically about a problem
- Excellent business writing (e.g. reports, policy briefs, strategic notes, etc.), presentation skills and verbal communication skills in English

- Good stakeholder management skills and ability to work with senior public officials and private sector leaders
- A strong understanding of the drivers of economic growth and investment in Africa and emerging markets as well as an appreciation of the wider context for business and its relation to the Government
- A strong ability to work in team, delivery focused, pragmatic, able to multi-task and get things done in a fast paced environment
- Professional, detail orientated with high standards
Candidates with Bachelor’s degree in the field of study mentioned above with 4 years of intensive work experience and above are also encouraged to apply.
c) Supervision and reporting arrangements
Economic analyst reports to the Head of Strategy and Competitiveness Unit in CEO’ office.
d) Duration of the assignment
The successful candidate will be offered a 2-year renewable contract (subject to performance).
e) Location
The Economic Analyst will be located at the RDB main office in Kigali.
f) Remuneration
Successful candidate will be offered an attractive package, which is competitive with the private sector in Rwanda.
