Job Title: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer
Line Manager: Course Director
Main Duties:
1. To teach one or more of the specialisms within the topic of Mechanical Engineering, including Mathematics, Statics, Dynamics, Fluid Mechanics and Materials according to a specified curriculum.
2. To ensure that IUEA students have a first-class learning experience by:-
a. Delivering a set curriculum and using prescribed assessment procedures
b. Providing stimulating lectures, tutorials and project sessions to students
c. Supervising projects effectively
d. Assessing fairly
e. Working to agreed deadlines for the assessment and return of submitted work
f. Being available to students for additional tutoring if required
3. To develop the use of the University’s VLE as the primary source of teaching material
4. To be the mentor for students allocated by the Course Director
5. To undertake such administrative duties as the Course Director requires
6. To assist in building relationships with industry, e.g.in sourcing scholarships, projects, internships and job placements
7. To raise the public awareness of the course as required by the University, e.g. by making presentations to schools and attending open days
8. To participate in staff development programmes which may be deemed necessary by the Course Director or Vice Chancellor
9. To help develop and implement a research strategy for the IUEA
